Mission
Statement:
The mission of the First Baptist Church Youth Ministry is to
nurture youth and support families by providing them with the
tools to grow in love with Jesus, to follow Him, and to influence
others to do the same.
Vision
Statement:
In order to accomplish our you ministry mission statement, FBC
Youth Staff is committed to providing the following tools:
- Faithful
instruction in God's Word
- Consistent
encouragement for students and families
- Persistent
Prayer
- Opportunities
for outreach (locally and globally)
- Parenting
classes (for parents of middle school and high school students)
- Sunday
School classes (for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth)
- Opportunities
for student leadership development
- Community
building experiences among teens in the youth group
Core
Values of our Youth Ministry:
- We
believe in training and developing our youth ministry staff.
- We
believe in providing the necessary resources to accomplish
our mission.
- We
believe effective youth ministry is enhanced through a positive,
enthusiastic, safe and nurturing environment as reflected
in our rules, staff attitude, equipment and facilities).
- We
believe that parents have the primary responsibility to train
and nurture their children. We believe our role as a youth
staff is to support and reinforce the parent's training.
- We
believe that effective ministry will happen only through the
work of the Holy Spirit.
- We
believe effective youth ministry requires building relationships
with kids.
- We
believe our ministry is an extension of the local church.
We are not a separate entity.
- We
believe each family needs to jointly participate together
in worship and church life.
- We
believe in is valuable to cooperate and work together with
other evangelical youth groups and ministries.
- We
believe our youth are a vital part of the local body of Christ
at F.B.C. and need to actively participate in the various
church ministries.
