Our Pastors

Don Baldrica

I am a native Oregonian, being born and raised in Portland. I grew up in a stable home environment to which I am very thankful for, with parents who loved each other and all four of their children. I was raised to believe in God and the Bible, and to live a moral life. I grew up thinking that as long as the good outweighed the bad, that I would be OK.
It wasn’t until after I graduated from High School and started attending a youth group that I began to read the Bible on my own and discover for myself that this is not what the Bible teaches.
I came to understand that God is perfect and holy, and that I needed all my sins to be forgiven in order to have a relationship with God, that I could never be good enough to earn my salvation. I needed to be forgiven and this was found in His only Son Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave. I was driving home one summer night in August 1978 when I called out to Jesus, placing my faith in Him alone for forgiveness and salvation.
After two years of attending Portland State University, I sensed God calling me to go into ministry. I finished my Bachelors Degree from PSU in business and started Seminary in the Fall of 1984. In July of 1988, I was hired as the college pastor for FBC. Katy and I were newlyweds, and I had just graduated from Denver Seminary. We thoroughly enjoyed college ministry and saw the Lord bless “IMPACT Club” on the Southern Oregon University Campus. In 1993 I became the preaching pastor and eventually had to pass the college ministry along to others.
All three of our children have been born and raised in Ashland, with the oldest, Owen, graduating from Biola University in June, 2012. He and his wife, Jessica along with their newborn son Charlie, (May 2016, our first grandchild), live in La Habra California. Our son, Luke, graduated from California Baptist University in Riverside California and he now resides in Santa Monica with his wife Krista. Hope, our youngest, is a sophomore at Colorado Christian University.
My loves are my Lord, Katy, Owen & Jessica, Charlie, Luke & Krista, Hope and my church family. I enjoy watching Hope play volleyball at CCU, cooking, exercising, golf, yard work, and the SF 49ers.

For 28 years the Lord has allowed us to serve here in Ashland. All those years ago, we were welcomed with open arms, and we consider it a great blessing to be part of the FBC family. We look forward to what the Lord has ahead as our Body of Christ grows deeper with Him by Loving Him, Loving others and Making Him known. All for His Glory.

Dwayne Robinson

Pastor Dwayne RobinsonI was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon and my spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ started early through the ministry of First Baptist Church of Grants Pass. At age 6 while sitting in church during the evening service I sensed I needed to be forgiven by the Lord and told my dad I wanted to accept Christ next Sunday night. So, the next week I “walked down the aisle” to talk with Pastor Brown where I prayed to receive Christ’s forgiveness and thus began my Christian journey.
I met my wife, Sheri, while attending Southern Oregon State College where I earned a B.S. degree in Business Education. I continued to grow in my faith through a variety of men who poured into my life throughout my college career. During my senior year God began impressing upon me a desire to go into full time ministry as a youth pastor. Sheri and I married in 1982 and began the adventure of seminary training at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. During my last year in seminary while serving as a youth pastor at Damascus Community Church, I received an invitation to become youth pastor at Ashland First Baptist Church. Sheri and I moved to Ashland and began ministry at FBC in August, 1987.
Sheri and I have been married for 34 years now and have three grown children, Jessica, Ryan and Andrew. Sheri is a Special Ed Teacher’s Aide at Talent Elementary School. Jessica graduated from Corban University in 2010, got married in 2016 to an awesome husband Jordan Lewis. Both Jordan and Jessica work in Ashland. Ryan and his wife Marie, were married in 2013 and live in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ryan serves as a youth pastor and Marie a school teacher. Andrew currently lives in San Diego, California.

Currently, I oversee the FBC children’s ministry along with pastoral administrative duties, occasionally preaching and overseeing our Discipleship Training and Home Life groups. Teaching children God’s truths, serving kids and people, coaching baseball, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals are some of my favorite interests.
