Lead Pastor

Dwayne Robinson

Pastor Dwayne RobinsonI was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon and my spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ started early through the ministry of First Baptist Church of Grants Pass. At age 6 while sitting in church during the evening service I sensed I needed to be forgiven by the Lord and told my dad I wanted to accept Christ next Sunday night. So, the next week I “walked down the aisle” to talk with Pastor Brown where I prayed to receive Christ’s forgiveness and thus began my Christian journey.

I met my wife, Sheri, while attending Southern Oregon State College where I earned a B.S. degree in Business Education. I continued to grow in my faith through a variety of men who poured into my life throughout my college career. During my senior year God began impressing upon me a desire to go into full time ministry as a youth pastor. Sheri and I married in 1982 and began the adventure of seminary training at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. During my last year in seminary while serving as a youth pastor at Damascus Community Church, I received an invitation to become youth pastor at Ashland First Baptist Church. Sheri and I moved to Ashland and began ministry at FBC in August, 1987.

Sheri and I have been married for 34 years now and have three grown children, Jessica, Ryan and Andrew. Sheri is a Special Ed Teacher’s Aide at Talent Elementary School. Jessica graduated from Corban University in 2010, got married in 2016 to an awesome husband Jordan Lewis. Both Jordan and Jessica work in Ashland. Ryan and his wife Marie, were married in 2013 and live in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ryan serves as a youth pastor and Marie a school teacher. Andrew currently lives in San Diego, California.

Currently, I oversee the FBC children’s ministry along with pastoral administrative duties, occasionally preaching and overseeing our Discipleship Training and Home Life groups. Teaching children God’s truths, serving kids and people, coaching baseball, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals are some of my favorite interests.
