Lead Pastor

Dwayne Robinson

Pastor Dwayne RobinsonPastory Dwayne was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon and his spiritual journey with the Lord Jesus Christ started early through the ministry of First Baptist Church of Grants Pass. At age 6 while sitting in church during the evening service he sensed he needed to be forgiven by the Lord and told his dad he wanted to accept Christ next Sunday night. So, the next week he “walked down the aisle” to talk with Pastor Brown where he prayed to receive Christ’s forgiveness and thus began his Christian journey.

He met his wife, Sheri, while attending Southern Oregon State College where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Education. He continued to grow in his faith through a variety of men who poured into his life throughout his college career. During his senior year God began impressing upon him a desire to go into full time ministry as a youth pastor. He and Sheri were married in 1982 and began the adventure of seminary training at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. During his last year in seminary while serving as a youth pastor at Damascus Community Church, he received an invitation to become youth pastor at Ashland First Baptist Church. They moved back to Ashland and began ministry at FBC in August, 1987.

Dwayne and Sheri have been married for 34 years now and have three grown children, Jessica, Ryan and Andrew. Sheri is a Special Ed Teacher’s Aide at Talent Elementary School. Jessica graduated from Corban University in 2010, got married in 2016 to an awesome husband Jordan Lewis. Both Jordan and Jessica work in Ashland and recently became parents. Ryan and his wife Marie, were married in 2013 and live in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ryan serves as a youth pastor and Marie a school teacher. Andrew currently lives in Portland, Oregon.

Currently, Pastor Dwayne oversees the FBC children’s ministry along with pastoral administrative duties, occasionally preaching and overseeing our Discipleship Training and Home Life groups. Teaching children God’s truths, serving kids and people, coaching baseball, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals are some of his favorite interests.
